What is Stasis?

Stasis is a hardware hackathon by Hack Club open to teenagers worldwide. Design and build original hardware projects, get funding to make them real, and earn bits along the way.

What about Open Sauce?

Open Sauce is a creator and maker festival in San Francisco. Through making hardware projects on Stasis, you can work towards Stasis, our in-person hardware hackathon, Open Sauce, or specific prizes from the shop. You can set or change your goal anytime from your dashboard.

When is the Stasis event?

The in-person Stasis event is May 15–18th, 2026!

When is the Open Sauce event?

Open Sauce is July 17–19th, 2026!

How do I get started?

Sign in to your Stasis account, create a new project from your dashboard, and choose a tier that fits your idea. If you're new to hardware, check out the Starter Projects for guided builds. Work on your design, log your sessions, and submit for review when you're ready.

What kind of projects can I make?

You can make anything related to hardware where you put the majority of your work into the hardware side of the project. This includes things like keyboards, 3D printers, and custom PCBs. Projects like home servers where you're mainly working on the software aspect are not allowed. If you're ever unsure, ask in #stasis-support on the Hack Club Slack.
